If you're a fan of instant film photography, you'll know that Polaroid cameras have a special place in the hearts of many photographers. There's just something about that iconic white border and the anticipation of waiting for the image to develop that makes the whole process so exciting.
Recently, I had the opportunity to try out the B&W i-Type film for the first time and I must say, I was really impressed with the results. I decided to take my Polaroid camera down to the beach at Fairbourne to capture some images of the dilapidated boats that line the shore.
As soon as I arrived at the beach, I knew that the B&W i-Type film was going to be perfect for the moody, atmospheric shots I had in mind. The film has a high ISO of 800, which means it performs well in low light conditions, making it perfect for capturing the rough, weathered boats against the overcast sky.
The first thing I noticed when using the B&W i-Type film was how easy it was to load into the camera. The film packs are clearly marked and the process is straightforward, which is always a plus when you're out on location and don't want to fiddle around with your equipment.
Once I had the film loaded and the camera ready to go, I set about taking some shots. I was really pleased with how the film captured the texture and detail of the boats. The contrast was spot on and the images had a really nice tonal range.
One thing I would say is that the B&W i-Type film is quite contrasty, so if you're shooting in very bright conditions, you may find that your images come out a little too dark. However, in the overcast light at Fairbourne, the film performed beautifully.
Overall, I'm really happy with the results I achieved using the B&W i-Type film. If you're a fan of instant film photography and you haven't yet tried this particular film, I would definitely recommend giving it a go. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised with the results.
